Tap Dancers Specialty Coffee devotes a great deal of time sampling a lot of different coffees from different regions throughout the world. The flavor profiles we are looking for are exacting. If it is something we are not willing to drink ourselves or to serve to our friends then we will not purchase the coffee.
Tap Dancers Specialty Coffee will always pursue excellence, seeking quality over price and taste over convenience. We will be uncompromising in our pursuit of the superb cup of coffee. We will tirelessly seek out the coffees that will amaze your taste buds. “Devotion to rigid standards” and “quality control” will not be buzz words…..they will be our company’s genuine lifestyle.
We exist to ignite new passion for the love of the world’s finest specialty coffees. We will strive to consistently exceed the expectations of our customers as we provide them with excellent service.
We will remain uncompromising in all the aspects of our business. The hallmark of our products will be fine quality and distinction. The pledge to our vendors will be to transact business with fairness and honesty. The promise to our employees will be to treat them with respect and equality, providing first rate opportunities for them to develop.
We will be devoted to the continuing education of coffee to everyone who seeks it. We will also seek to invest into benefiting our surrounding local community.
I guess you could say I was born a travelin’ man of the world. My father was an officer in the Air Force so we moved about every 3 years on average until I was in high school where I graduated in Tacoma, Washington. Between the moving as a child and the traveling I did as an adult I’ve been as far east as the Philippines, as far west as Eastern Europe, as far north as Canada and as far south as Brazil.
I started working as a ballroom dance instructor in Tacoma in 1976 and came to Omaha, Nebraska in 1982 to help a local Fred Astaire studio by request. Although I had no intentions of staying, I ended up making Omaha my home because I felt it was a great place to raise my son Sean. After 15 years of teaching ballroom dance God put me at a crossroads. After experiencing a plethera of jobs I began working at TD Ameritrade and worked there for 13 years. In December of 2011 (5 days after Maxine & I returned from our honeymoon), TD Ameritrade did a massive layoff and I was one of the 160+ people to go. It was truly a blessing in disguise because it gave me the push I needed to follow my coffee dreams, giving birth to Tap Dancers Specialty Coffee.
When I’m not working I love spending time with my best friend and wife, Maxine. We have fun shopping at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods and cooking new and different meals. We try to go out ballroom dancing twice a week. We also truly enjoy worshiping together at Ambassador Worship Center.
Maxine (Goldberg) Dancer
I’m originally from New York City and lived there until I was 19 years old, when I went overseas to live in the Philippines as a missionary and ended up living there a total of 8 years. I got the chance to travel to Hong Kong and Malaysia while in Asia. I got back to the U.S. in 1994 and have lived in Omaha, Nebraska since I returned. I am passionate about encouraging others towards excellence in life and about serving our community. I desire to be a blessing wherever and whenever I can to whoever I encounter. I’m extremely excited about watching Tom’s dream of becoming a Roast Master come true. It’s exciting to see the “kid in the candy store” look on his face as he explores all the avenues of this life long dream
I have worked for 16 years as a QuickBooks trainer and for the past 11 years as an accounting administrator at Pope Paul VI Physicians, P.C. I’m currently enjoying being part of Tap Dancers Specialty Coffee as Tom’s Co-Managing Partner and BCE (bean counter extraordinaire).
We have two amazing sons named Jeremy (Texas A&M Engineering Technology graduate now living/working in Omaha) and Jarell (University of North Texas Computer Science graduate now living/working in Texas) that are a joy to our hearts. Tom & I are super proud of them.
When I am not working one of my 3 jobs, I like to go ballroom dancing (that’s where I met Tom!), sing, read, play with our dog Ezekiel and spend time doing things with my family and enjoying nature. Of course I LOVE spending time with Tom as much as I can. We were married in November of 2011 and we like to dance, dream, walk, watch movies, discover new restaurants and places and experience God do amazing things in our lives! I love to travel (but hate airplanes….go figure). I also love learning new things and I am passionate about helping women who have been through the pain of abuse to see that there is truly a light at the end of the tunnel (and no, it’s not a train).
